This year, Zerodraft Residential, Inc. celebrates 20 years in business! That’s 20 years of wonderful & loyal customers, 20 years of customer service, 20 years of learning & growing, and 20 years of successfully making people warm and comfortable in their homes in the Central New York area.
Zerodraft is proud to celebrate 20 years in business, and we thank our customers for your support.
Zerodraft was founded in 2004 in Syracuse, NY and has gone through some changes, as all businesses do.
In 2018 Zerodraft Residential, Inc. was purchased by David Whorrall. David has worked for Zerodraft since he was 18 years old. He has worked in every department, has been in every role, and has learned every aspect of the business. Smart and driven, David has built up the business even in the short time he has been the owner. When he purchased the business in 2018, Zerodraft Residential, Inc. did about 200 residential jobs per year; in 2023 we did about 500 jobs.
David started acquiring the other part of Zerodraft, Zerodraft Commercial of CNY, Inc., in 2020 and in 2022 completed the purchase of the commercial side of Zerodraft. In 2023 Zerodraft Commercial did its largest ever commercial project in Fort Drum doing apartment renovations, a $5 million project.
There are about 50 employees between Zerodraft’s residential and commercial divisions.
Previously located in Mattydale, in 2023 Zerodraft bought a newer, larger building in Cicero, in what is known as the old Girl Scouts’ building.
David is married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Vanessa Whorrall. Vanessa is an RN at McGraw elementary school. They have two boys, Case, age 7, and Lane, age 4. The Whorrall family, as with their company, is very involved in the community. The Whorralls live in the country and love doing outdoor activities, such as racing ATV, and the boys attend multiple sport activities including soccer, basketball and baseball. Family is very important to the Whorralls.
Zerodraft, both residential and commercial, has flourished since it began in 2004, and in the last five years with David at the helm has gotten bigger and better than ever. We plan on making many, many more Central New York area residents’ homes warmer, while saving money on utilities.
